One of the most dangerous and violent gangs in the country has been crippled following a series of police raids.

The Gang 08, which has terrorised Klang Valley residents for over a year, is believed to have an organised hierarchy and was involved in a string of criminal activities including murder, drug dealing, distributing counterfeit money, blackmailing and illegal possession of firearms.

A special task force from the City Serious Crimes Department (D9) was set up to monitor the gang's movements and after meticulous planning, it conducted two simultaneous raids on a house in Cheras and Seri Kembangan on Jan 23.

"Eleven people, including the gang leader and two women, all aged between 16 and 32, were picked up in the raids," City police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Muhammad Sabtu Osman said yesterday.

Police seized a potted cannabis plant, 1.5kg of cannabis, a BMW car, 160 fake US currency notes and two semi-automatic pistols.

A subsequent inspection led police to a parked Kembara in Kepong where another 3.1kg of cannabis was found in the car.

DCP Muhammad Sabtu said the gang had been active for over a year in Seri Serdang, Sri Petaling, Seri Kembangan, Kepong and Ampang.

He said seven of the suspects were released on bail and the other four remanded until Friday.

Police were on the lookout for the remaining members of the gang, he added.

Cops cripple terror gang? What? How??? I don't get this! They lost one car, two guns, a rediculous small amount of fake money and some canabis. How does that cripple a 11+ strong gang???

In the first line of the article it mentions "One of the most dangerous and violent gangs in the country" and then near the bottom it says "seven of the suspects were released on bail and the other four remanded until Friday", this includes the gang leader, and "Police were on the lookout for the remaining members of the gang".

Now WTF is that all about? Those they have, including the gang leader, are out on bail allready or will be released before the weekend. So why bother to look for the remaining members if they let them go again?
Hello, anybody home??? Was this not "One of the most dangerous and violent gangs in the country" ??????

If these people don't end up behind bars, then who will??? Infact, does Malaysia have any prison cells available for such gangsters? Or are these reserved for unsuspecting tourists with a joint in their luggage? Or perhaps only illegal people can enjoy these facilities? Or maybe they are reserved for those couples holding hands in public? Or they are just there to hold Anwars that might or might not be a little to gay?

Is the rest of the population free to rob and mob? Are Malaysian citizens not bound by law? To busy with religion?? To busy being corrupt??

I just don't get this Malaysian-style law enforcement! Why bother if the the end result is a status quo?

I might also concider going into the mafia business if all they do is slap me on the wrist.

Malaysia Boleh I suppose!?
